Precious Pearls Orphanage Visitation – Lagos, July 2021
On 18 July 2021, the Executive Director of BruderHilfe Social Development Initiative, Mary Bruder, celebrated her birthday with the children and staff of Precious Pearls Orphanage in Egbeda, Lagos.
Donations and Support
During the visit, Mrs. Bruder donated educational materials, food provisions, drinks, clothing, toys, and health supplements to support the children’s wellbeing. Items were also provided for the newest member of the home — a four-month-old baby — alongside a cheque donation to assist the orphanage in purchasing additional necessities.
Mrs. Bruder noted that BruderHilfe had previously supported the orphanage through earlier collaborative donations with another non-profit initiative, reaffirming the organisation’s commitment to continued partnership. She also presented a gift to the orphanage director and highlighted the need to recognise caregivers whose dedication often goes unnoticed.
Inclusive Support and Scholarships
During the visitation, BruderHilfe identified children with special needs and disabilities within the home and made arrangements to support them through the organisation’s Inclusive Project Initiative. Plans were also announced to enrol selected children into the organisation’s scholarship scheme, ensuring access to quality education and long-term opportunities.
A Celebration of Hope
The children marked the occasion by presenting songs to the celebrant and expressing their aspirations, including pursuing higher education, expanding their living space, and accessing skills development opportunities.
The orphanage director expressed appreciation to Mrs. Bruder and BruderHilfe for the generosity shown, encouraging individuals and organisations to support orphanage homes and the children they serve.
Through visits such as this, BruderHilfe continues to strengthen its commitment to child welfare, inclusive support, and educational empowerment, ensuring vulnerable children receive the care and opportunities they deserve.
